Origin, which is missing entirely: this is the only product Raw Instincts sell with no country, no state, no fishery and no wild-caught or farmed statement of any kind. Every other item in their range says at least USA. For seafood specifically, origin is one of the things a buyer reasonably wants to know, so we are flagging the silence rather than filling it in. Ask us and we will request it.

Worth noting alongside that: the product title is also the only one in the range that drops the 'Florida' suffix the others carry, reading simply 'Raw Instincts'. It may mean nothing. It may mean this one is sourced differently. We do not know, and neither does the listing.

Whole fish means whole: head, bones and all. That is the point of feeding small fish — the skeleton is soft enough to eat and it is where the minerals are. It also means a strong smell and, for small pets, a piece that is worth breaking up before you hand it over.

On omega-3: oily fish are a natural source of EPA and DHA. That is a fact about the fish and we are happy to state it. What we will not do is turn it into a promise about your pet's skin, joints or inflammation — a treat-sized portion of dried fish is not a measured dose of anything, and the supplier publishes no analysis that would let anyone calculate one. If your vet has recommended omega-3 supplementation, they will have a dose in mind and a treat is not how to deliver it.

The supplier does not give a handling note, so take ours. Chew time is supervised time, the final piece goes in the bin rather than down the throat, and water should be available. Wash your hands after handling — drying is not cooking.

On what this supposedly does: we are not going to tell you, because nobody has shown us evidence. We can tell you what it is, where it came from and how it eats. That is the honest extent of it.

What is a finger mullet?
A small mullet, the size anglers use as bait — a few inches. Functionally the same treat as a sardine: a whole small oily fish, eaten skeleton and all.

Where do they come from?
The supplier does not say, which is the one thing we would want to know about a fish and the one thing the listing omits. We have asked. Until we hear back, treat the origin as unstated rather than assuming it matches their other products.

Sardines or mullets?
Mullets are cheaper. Sardines have a stated Florida origin and are a slightly fattier fish. If origin matters to you, that difference decides it.
