Picking A Size

  • 📐 Small is 5in × 7in, large is 8in square — both 0.25in thick, at 2.8 oz and 4.1 oz respectively. Small suits a small dog or a cat; large suits everyone else.
  • 🌀 Smaller patterns are harder work — SodaPup states the larger mat has bigger, less challenging grooves. So the small mat is physically smaller *and* more difficult — worth knowing if you want to make it last.
  • 🧊 Freeze it and it lasts several times longer — spread, freeze for one to two hours, serve. That's the whole technique.

FAQ

What do I spread on it?
Wet food, plain unsweetened yoghurt, pumpkin purée, or a meat topper loosened with water. Avoid anything containing xylitol — check any peanut butter jar before it goes near a dog.

Does it stick to the floor?
This version doesn't. It sits flat, and a determined dog will push it around the kitchen. If that would drive you mad, the suction-cup version is the one you want.

Small or large?
Large for most dogs — it holds more and the grooves are easier, so the dog doesn't give up. Small for cats, small dogs, or when you want to stretch a smaller amount of food further.

Can I put it in the dishwasher?
Top rack only. The bottom rack runs hotter and will warp it.

Is it safe to leave the dog alone with it?
SodaPup says supervise, and we'd agree — it isn't a chew toy. If your dog starts biting the mat rather than licking it, that's the signal to take it away.
